Privacy policy
Working draft, August 2026 — being reviewed by the founders. Elden is currently open by invitation, and this policy describes the platform as it is being built.
Elden is an AI mentor for adults 50 and over, made by Elden AI. This page says what information we collect, where it goes, and what you can do about it — in plain language, because that is how the whole platform is written.
What we collect, and why
Using Elden means some information is collected, in these categories:
- What you write to Elden and his two companions, Ellie and Eska — your conversations are what a mentor works with.
- Documents you choose to upload, so Elden can read and discuss them with you.
- Your profile — what Elden learns about you and your priorities, kept so you never have to repeat yourself.
- Your account details — name, email address, and sign-in information.
- Ordinary technical records — error codes, which page was requested, how long things took. What you say is never in these records.
Where your words go
Your conversations, profile, and uploaded documents are sent to Anthropic, whose AI models power all three characters. Anthropic does not use your content to train its models and deletes it after 30 days — with one exception: content may be kept and reviewed where a safety or prohibited-use investigation requires it.
Your words are sent to the AI as you typed them. We do not remove or disguise your name or other identifying details first.
When a character searches the web to answer you, a search query based on your question leaves the platform. Your name and your account never do.
If you connect your Google Calendar
Connecting a calendar is optional. If you connect one, the events on it are read when they are needed — to show your day, or to help you plan — sent to the AI as context for that moment, and never stored on the platform. “Read-only” describes what we do to your calendar, not where its contents go, which is why this paragraph exists. You can disconnect at any time, and the reading stops immediately.
Elden's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements: calendar data is used only to provide these features to you — never for advertising, and never transferred except as needed to provide them.
The companies that help us run
Running Elden means using other companies for hosting, storage, the database, sign-in, and email. Each holds what it needs to do its job, under contracts that carry the same restrictions we commit to here. Data is stored on servers in the United States.
What we never do
We never sell your data. No advertising, no data brokers, and no third-party analytics on what you write.
Anonymous, combined statistics about how the platform is used — counts, never content — inform product decisions. They are never sold and never linked to you outside the platform.
Keeping and deleting
Your data is kept while your account is open, so Elden can be a mentor with a memory. When you close your account, everything is deleted from every store, and the deletion is confirmed complete before you are told it is done. Copies in backups are purged within 30 days.
If your account sits unused for 90 days we send a notice, then a 60-day grace period with reminders. After that the account is deleted the same way. Signing in once, at any point, resets the clock.
Email from us
We email you about your account and, separately, with updates and news. You can switch the second kind off. We never email to lure you back after you leave.
If you write to us before joining
If you give us your name and email on the front page — to ask about Elden or request an invitation — we keep them so we can follow up. The founders read those messages. Ask us and we will delete them.
Cookies
Elden uses cookies only to run the platform: cookies that keep you signed in, and — during the invitation-only period — one that remembers your invitation is valid on this browser for a year, so you do not retype the code. Nothing here tracks you across other websites.
What you can do
Everything the platform stores about you is yours to see, correct, download, and delete, from inside your account. These are controls on screens, not requests you have to write to us — though you can always write to us too.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so plainly on the platform and by email — not silently. Questions about privacy, or requests about your information: write to us through the contact form, or email founders@askelden.com.
